MindfulExperience.org logoSeptember 2016 - The Inspire Children Foundation is pleased to announce our sponsorship of The Mindful Experience for Children at five selected Philadelphia preschools that serve low-income families. This unique program, tailored for children 3- 6 years of age, teaches kids how to calm down, get along, focus, be more optimistic and regulate emotions. Beneficial for all kids, mindfulness practices have also been shown to protect against the damaging effects of childhood trauma. Toxic stress can damage a child's brain making it hard to focus and learn. Mindfulness skills help a traumatized child to calm down, feel safe, better cope and become more stress resilient. Our grant will provide mindfulness sessions for 140 young children and related classroom books like "Sitting Like a Frog" and "Peaceful Piggy Meditation."
